We’ve always associated shoes with fashion: what looks good, what’s in trend, what celebrities are wearing. For some, comfort is their preference when it comes to footwear. But did you know that shoes not just only affect your feet. Shoes also contribute to back pain. Improper footwear can be a reason for back pain. Wolf, podiatrist and professor of nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, “If the feet are mechanically unsound, they can change the alignment of all the structures above them. I often see patients with a mechanically unsound foot who are experiencing pain. Wearing shoes that don’t give proper support can exacerbate the problem.”
